“Trust us, you look amazing! You look beautiful! From up here you also look like one thing. Homo Sapiens is all of us. No matter where you’re from or what you look like. We’re all one people.”
Victor Glover - U.S. Astronaut and Pilot of Artemis II mission - - looking at Earth from their moon journey view of 45,000 miles above the earth. April 2, 2026
Today has been full. Today has been good (as in small g good).
I got to see the broadcast of the Artemis crew. That was amazing. They are really heading to the moon. How crazy is that! I harvested an amazing quote from pilot Victor Glover. It's not a new observation that when humans get outside of the planet's atmosphere and even outside of it's orbit that they see the earth as a very different place. What is sad is that the majority of the planet doesn't see itself that way. If we all did, we wouldn't have wars or geo-political motivations for supporting the space race instead of scientific ones. Humanity is self focused for the most part because we can't afford to send every one of its eight billion inhabitants to a place where we can see the earth as one place and humanity as one thing.
I also enjoyed listening and watching Jesus Christ Superstar. This is my annual GF tradition. I get more amazed at it every year.
I am glad this forty five day journey of daily writing is over for another year. If I do it next year, I need a better program than just winging it. That's boring.
Until next year... maybe.
